So which is better value, you tell me?
Buy one get free or half price?
Sainsburys have tins of Roses for £10, buy one get one free.
Whilst Tesco are doing the same tins of Roses for half price, £5.
So which is better value?
food, reviews and of course coffee

Decided to give Green and Blacks another try. Not sure why as I didn’t enjoy the chocolate that much the last time I had it.
I do like dark chocolate and I do like the 70% style of dark chocolate (or should that be plain chocolate).
I did eat it, thought it was okay, but really think I prefer other dark chocolate. There was too much of a cherry or fruit flavour for my liking.
Really nice and interesting video from BBC News on how Cadbury make their 40m Easter Eggs (50% of the UK market).
Easter is one of the most popular times of year for chocolate-makers and it has been revealed that despite the current economic downturn, confectionery sales in 2009 have continued to rise, with predictions of record sales this Easter.
Watch the video.
Interesting is how in other markets, the US and Europe, they prefer chocolate bunnies and chicks, whilst in the UK market we prefer chocolate eggs.

Generally I don’t like shop made trifles, as in the main there is an articial taste to them, particularly chocolate trifles. The cream always has a tang to it that I really don’t like.
Generally I don’t have the time and patience to make my own (and also I am the only person in the house who likes trifle, so making a big one is not on the cards either).
Recently I bought a three pack of Gü Chocolate Trifles enjoyed them then, so I have bought them again!
Enjoyed them again.

Now and again I buy individual trifles, notably Tesco Finest and Morrisons The Best individual sherry trifles which are not that bad for shop bought trifles.
Recently I have bough a three pack of Gü Chocolate Trifles.
Their website says about their trifles and why you should buy them…
1. The intensity of the 53% cocoa chocolate ganache.
2. The softness of the chocolate sponge.
3. The decadence of the lightly whipped cream.
4. The silky-smoothness of the chocolatey mousse.
I did enjoy them and you can tell that as I bought them again. They are by no way perfect, but when you want a quick chocolatey snack and want to avoid the artificial twang that you find with many chocolate desserts from the fridge, then chocolate trifles from Gü are just the job.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Apricot Crumble Crunch is one of two variations that Cadbury have released, the other being Cranberry and Granola.
I had high expectations as it did sound rather tasty, alas I was disappointed. There was chewy and crunchy texture in there, but very little flavour, could I taste apricot, no I could not.
There didn’t seem to be too much to it, I think I would prefer Fruit and Nut myself.
Monday sees the re-return of the Cadbury Wispa.
After selling twenty million last year in a seven week trial, Cadbury have decided to bring the Wispa back again, this time for good.
BBC reports on how the credit crunch and rising food and fuel costs are having an impact the costs for snack firms.
Mars has become the latest snack firm to admit the credit crunch is eating into its business.
The Snickers bar and M&Ms maker said it would be raising the wholesale price of its goods to offset rising raw material, packaging and energy costs.
The news came days after fellow US firm Hershey raised its product prices.
Mars also said it would be cutting the size of some of its goods. In the UK, a number of firms have shrunk snack sizes to stave off price rises.
So we can expect our chocolate bars to get smaller.
So here I am at the same place with the same vending machine I was last week.
Must remember do not buy the KitKat Crunchy!
It’s horrible.
Sometimes I wonder why I bother.
I was feeling peckish, so having very little choice from the vending machine, I went for the KitKat Crunchy.
This is basically a BIG single stick of KitKat.
For me it most certainly did not hit the spot.
I don’t know why, maybe it was the mood I was in, but it didn’t feel quite right.
So next time, either no chocolate, or possibly an original KitKat!
