Not too keen on the ketchup

I mentioned before how impressed I was with the new crisps (potato chips) from Burts with no added salt, but unlike other unsalted crsisps they have flavours; plain, ketchup and vinegar.

They are really nice crisps and if you are trying to keep your salt intake down a nice choice if you like crisps.

However…

I have decided that though I like plain and vinegar, I am not such a fan of the ketchup flavour.

Think in future I will go for the unsalted only crisps.

Unsalted Crisps

I much prefer unsalted crisps, however I am having real problems buying them locally.

True I can buy Smiths (actually Walkers) unsalted Salt ‘n’ Shake crisps, but I much prefer the traditionally cooked crisps you can buy.

In theory Tyrells, Kettle and Burts make unsalted crisps, but though my local suppliers have other flavours they no longer stock the unsalted versions.

Pringles are “not crisps”

Pringles are “not crisps”

BBC reports on a court ruling which says that Pringles are not crisps.

Pringles, the popular snack food in a tube, are not potato crisps, a High Court judge has ruled.

Their packaging, “unnatural shape” and the fact that the potato content is less than 50% helped Mr Justice Warren make his crunch decision.

This is all a tax avoidance issue and nothing really to do with crisps and non-crisps.
